Through over 30 years of business, Møreforsking has built solid expertise on designing and conducting projects within varying time- and budget-frames. The institute has 55 employees, whom conduct research, development, counseling and knowledge development.
Sanna Matsson has a PhD in Marine Biology from the
department of Arctic and Marine Biology, UiT The Arctic University of Norway
(2021). The thesis ‘Fouling of macro epibionts on cultivated Saccharina
latissima (Phaeophyceae) – In situ temporal and spatial variation’
deals with fouling organisms on cultivated sugar kelp and maps the extent, art
compostion and timing of settlement along the Norwegian coast.
Sanna has worked with different life phases of cultivated
kelp, and started with marine macroalgae during her master’s degree in Marine
biology and Aquaculture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology
(NTNU), in 2013, where she looked at optimizing gametophyte cultures. Through
her work, she has disseminated knowledge through international publishing,
teaching at univerity level and for primary schools, and participation in
conferences.
Sanna has worked as a researcher at Møreforsking since January 2022 and belongs to the ocean and health group. She has research interests in
cultivation of varius species, co-cultivation, and low trophic species.
